PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

  1. Associate at Assegaf Hamzah & Partners (AHP)November 2015 – PresentI handle works from both the Jakarta office and Surabaya office of my firm (I am placed in the Surabaya office). For the Jakarta office, I mainly advise for technology, media, and telecommunication related matters, whereas the works I have completed for the Surabaya office covers almost every spectrum of corporate legal services, such as providing legal opinions, conducting legal due diligence, and carrying out transaction, for various types of companies (mainly state-owned companies).
  2. Associate at Arfidea Kadri Sahetapy-Engel Tisnadisastra (AKSET)September 2014 – October 2015Providing a wide spectrum of legal services, including drafting legal opinions and agreements, representing in negotiations, conducting legal due diligence, carrying out transactions, and licensing and documentation, covering various sectors, such as mining, forestry, and banking and financial services. Also commenced initial research on Indonesia’s privacy law and mandatory use of Bahasa Indonesia based on statutory laws and regulations.
  3. Legal Analyst at Hukumonline.com (PT Justika Siar Publika)December 2012 – August 2014Responsible for writing publications of Hukumonline.com’s corporate subscription services, which include the Indonesian Legal Brief (ILB), Indonesian Law Digest (ILD), Monthly Law Review (MLR). These publications are essentially legal analyses of Indonesian laws and regulations covering the fields of general corporate matters, trade, financial services, industry and manufacturing, telecommunication and media, energy and natural resources, taxation, and consumer and retail.

    In addition to writing the abovementioned products, I have also handled internal presentations of them to other divisions in order to ensure in-depth understanding on what is analysed in each respective product.

    Included into my job description is also the writing of news relevant to current events concerning legal matters in Indonesia. This has granted a sufficient understanding of writing journalistic articles, as well as skills relevant to journalism.

    Outside the mentioned works, I have also handled the translation of Indonesia’s labor law (Law No. 13 of 2003 regarding Labor) into English. This translation was jointly published by Hukumonline and Literati as a book titled “Undang-Undang No. 13 Tahun 2003 tentang Ketenagakerjaan, Dilengkapi Dengan Komentar Pasal-Pasal Yang Dibatalkan Oleh MK” in 2014.

  4. Internship Lawyer at Zaidun and Partners, Counselors & Attorneys at LawAugust 2012 – November 2012Responsibilities of an intern lawyer include: (i) assisting in cases from various areas of law (including but not limited to environmental law, employment law, corruption law), (ii) assisted in legal consultations, and drafting legal opinions specifically on corporate matters, and (iii) researched and analyzed legal provisions for partners and senior associates.I was also involved and included into the team in charge of a corruption case involving a regional head in Surabaya.
  5. Intern at Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of IndonesiaSeptember 2011 – October 2011, and July 2011 – August 2011Internship course at Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Republic of Indonesia, Directorate of Economic, Social and Cultural Agreements, that involved various office duties, research, and work on international agreements.
